The Thyroid gland.
The thyroid gland is in the form of a butterfly shape, whose two lobes of which lie against the lower half of the cartilage of thyroid. The thyroid gland is in the neck’s front. It is situated below the voice box. The thyroid tissue consists of two cell types, follicular cells, and parafollicular cells. Most of the thyroid tissue is made up of follicular cells that secrete the thyroid hormones that contain iodine.

Every cell in the body depends on thyroid hormones to regulate their metabolism. The normal thyroid gland produces about 80 percent T4 and about 20 percent T3, but T3 possesses about four times the “strength” hormone as T4.

What is Hyperthyroidism?

Hyperthyroidism is a condition in which an excessive amount of thyroid hormones circulating in the blood are produced by an overactive thyroid gland. The hormones of the thyroid include thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3). In fact, T3 is the most active thyroid hormone. Much of the T4 in the bloodstream is converted into T3.  If your thyroid gland makes too much T4and T3, this is defined as hyperthyroidism.

Thyroid hormones regulate the cells ‘ metabolism. The rate of thyroid hormone production is normally controlled by the brain from the pituitary gland, which is in turn regulated by the hypothalamus.  If you have Hyperthyroidism (excessive thyroid hormone condition), excessively high thyroid hormones cause to speed up of your metabolism which in turn leads to unpleasant symptoms
