Pimples are a form of acne which is a common skin disease found in adults during their teenage years. These effect skin over the face, chest, back and upper part of shoulders. Some people also have it on their forearms. Mostly it is seen in youngsters during puberty or due to increased testosterone levels or androgens. These are characterized by red skin, blackheads, pustules, papules, nodules, etc.
Symptoms of pimples
Symptoms include persistent, recurring swelling and red spots on the skin. The swelling may get inflamed and fill with pus. These generally appear on the face, chest, shoulder, neck and upper part of the shoulder.
Causes of pimples
Pimples are generally caused by blockages in hair follicles. It can also be caused by increased sebaceous glands or increased secretion of sebum. When testosterone levels increase, it leads to increased secretion of sebum which in turn causes acne. It can also be caused by an unhealthy diet which is high in sugar and glycemic. Acne is also caused during pregnancy and during menses.
Pimples treatment in homeopathy
- Hepar Sulph
This is used for people whose pimples are very painful and feel like a splinter in the skin. They lesions feel very sensitive to touch and are possibly cold. Pimples may cluster on the forehead and may form whiteheads.
- Calcarea Sulph
This is used for people who have severe cystic acne. The lesions persist at one spot for a long duration and do not heal quickly. The pimples are near the ears and hairline.
- Kali Bromatum
This is used for people who have bluish, red pustules on the face, chest, and shoulders. These pustules leave scars, purple spots or a depression on the skin.
This is used for girls who have acne on their faces due to the menstrual cycle or due to pregnancy.
