What is the fistula in the anus?

An anal fistula is a medical condition in which the internal and external skin of the anus develops an unwonted link or tract. The exterior aperture of the fistula tract appears as a wound or aperture around the anus.

An anal or rectal fistula is a minute cavity or minute passageway that develops between the cessation of the bowel. Normally, the skin near the anus which is customarily filled with pus. Fistulas are most prevalent in the digestive tract.
